Deadline: 20 March 2019
CFD, a feminist peace organisation is currently inviting eligible organisations for its Women Economic Empowerment for Social Change (WEESC) program to enhance participation of women in economic development.
This includes increasing knowledge, skills and access to financial and technical support, as well as empowering women to make and act upon decisions in order to benefit from economic growth. Proposed interventions should recognize that economic empowerment is connected to social empowerment, and take into account the underlying social and cultural factors that limit women’s ability to interact with and benefit from markets, such as unpaid domestic and family-related responsibilities, restricted movement, restricted control over assets, and gender-based discrimination.
Proposals should particularly target women and girls affected by intersectional discrimination based on e.g. their ethnicity, colour, age, social background or people living with disabilities. Interventions should therefore address intersectional discrimination with relevant and specific measures.
Project Scope
- Economic Empowerment and Development: Project proposals should be relevant to sectors that specifically foster economic empowerment for women and girls, as well as focus on production or services that meet a real demand in the local community or region. The programme design takes the constraints of economic development in a context of an occupied territory into consideration. Cooperation between civil society, government and private sector is encouraged.
- Intersectionality: By addressing intersectional discrimination of women and girls, the proposed project is contributing to social change and more just, equal, inclusive and peaceful societies.
- Innovation: cfd is looking for innovative approaches in terms of skills development, products or services, marketing approaches etc.
- Context & Problem Analysis: The project description demonstrates an in-depth, facts based problem analysis (please mention own researches, if any)
- Impact & desired change: Explain the project’s envisaged long-term impact for the target group(s) towards social change through economic empowerment
- Outcomes, Outputs and Activities: Elaborate on how you aim to achieve outcomes by describing outputs and activities (logframe-matrix or Theory of Change).
- Sustainability: Elaborate on social & economic sustainability aspects of the project and a continued impact on the target group beyond the project duration.
