CFPs: Implementation of the Gender Action Learning System Methodology in the Youth in Agribusiness Programme (Tanzania)

Deadline: 17-Jul-25

The World Food Programme (WFP) has announced a call for proposals to support the implementation of the Gender Action Learning System (GALS) methodology within its Youth in Agribusiness Programme in Tanzania.

The primary aim of this initiative is to deliver high-quality gender technical support and coordinate the rollout of a Gender Transformative Approach in the VKB program areas. This includes facilitating the planning and practical implementation of the GALS methodology in close collaboration with the WFP Tanzania Country Office and its cooperating partners.

Specifically, the selected organization will be responsible for leading the implementation of the GALS methodology in the program’s seven target regions: Arusha, Manyara, Dodoma, Singida, Tabora, Shinyanga, and Simiyu. Additionally, the role involves strengthening the capacity of WFP staff and cooperating partners to apply GALS tools effectively.

The implementer will also review existing GALS guidelines and training materials available locally and ensure they are suitable for community-level facilitators. Based on this review, a tailored GALS manual and a detailed implementation plan will be developed for WFP’s use in the region.

This initiative falls within cross-sectoral themes, particularly focusing on gender equality and women’s empowerment within agribusiness and rural development.

The total budget allocated for the implementation of the GALS methodology under the VKB initiative is USD 200,000.

Geographically, the program is focused on several regions across Tanzania, including Manyara, Arusha, Dodoma, Tabora, Shinyanga, Singida, and Simiyu.

Proposals will be evaluated based on their relevance to achieving the expected results, the clarity of proposed activities and outcomes, and overall cost-effectiveness.
