Are you ready to turn your ideas into reality or breathe new life into your existing initiatives? The Code4Europe Partnership offers small grants to support and scale up activities that align with the goals and priorities of the European Code Week to strengthen the digital skills of young people, especially girls.
The purpose of this call is to recognize and support projects that have a significant impact and align with the values of European Code Week to promote Programming, Computational Thinking and digital skills across Europe.
Objectives
- The main objectives include:
- the development of innovative Programming activities,
- supporting initiatives that integrate Programming into educational contexts,
- strengthening cooperation and encouraging participation,
- prioritizing projects that bridge the gender and skills gap and promote diversity in STEM education.
Funding Information
- Funding will range from €500 to €1,000 and will be offered to up to 5 actions.
Eligibility Criteria
- Eligible applicants are:
- Public and Private Schools of all levels,
- Libraries and similar institutional bodies,
- Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs),
- Private organizations and programming clubs,
- Associations specializing in programming and computational thinking.
- Eligible applicants are those who reside and/or operate legally in the Republic of Cyprus.
Evaluation Criteria
- Proposals will be evaluated based on the following criteria:
- Coherence, which assesses the relevance of the objectives in relation to the priorities of the European Code Week (use of coding in education, problem solving, innovation, creativity, etc.) and whether the design of the activities is consistent with these objectives and appropriate for their achievement. In addition, the strategy to be followed is assessed, taking into account the timing of the activities, as well as the professional, organizational and technological resources available.
- Grading percentage: 30%
- Quality of the proposal, which is assessed based on didactic elements, such as methodological choices, the connection of the proposal to the basic sciences (digital literacy, numeracy, data, information and communication technology, – OECD Learning Compass 2030, CoE Keis competencies for LLL 2018). In addition, the following factors are examined: the use of assessment tools, the development of synergies in local collaborative networks to improve the effectiveness of the initiative and the involvement of various stakeholders.
- Scoring percentage: 30%
- Impact, assessed taking into account the extent to which the action contributes to strengthening the digital skills of young people, with a particular and substantial emphasis on the participation of girls. In addition, the project’s contribution to strengthening the contact of young people with the STEM fields is assessed, as well as its social impact, through the connection with the wider community and the participation of people of all ages, genders, cultural and socio-economic backgrounds.
- Grading percentage: 40%
