The Christensen Fund: Inviting Organisations for Melanesia Program

Call for Proposals: Joint UK/India Energy Demand Reduction in the Built Environment

Deadline: 30 September 2016

The Christensen Fund is seeking applications from organisations for its Melanesia Program that focuses on fortifying and reasserting local culturally-based economies in the face of growing extractive industries, land conversion and a steady devaluation of traditional practices.

The Christensen Fund is a private foundation founded in 1957 and based in San Francisco, California. The fund focus on the bicultural – the rich but neglected adaptive interweave of people and place, culture and ecology. Its mission is to buttress the efforts of people and institutions who believe in a bio-diverse world infused with artistic expression and work to secure ways of life and landscapes that are beautiful, bountiful and resilient.

The Fund seeks to support the resilience of living diversity at landscape and community level around the world in partnerships with Indigenous peoples and others.
