City-Country Partnerships Program in Australia

Deadline: 21-Mar-22

The Department of Education, Skills and Employment is pleased to announce a funding call for the City-Country Partnerships Program.

A single delivery organisation, or consortium, is expected to be selected through this grant opportunity, to oversee implementation of the City-Country Partnerships program.

The successful delivery organisation will administer the funding to selected schools, oversee the partnerships in line with Grant Opportunity Guidelines and source philanthropic support to match government funding. The delivery organisation will recommend partnerships to the department for agreement. Across the lifetime of the partnerships, the delivery organisation will support participating schools to develop and demonstrate sustainability arrangements before Australian Government funding ceases in 2023–24.

Indigenous organisations are encouraged to apply, or to partner with another organisation to deliver the program.

Funding Information

A portion of the available funding ($3.810 million of the available $24.603 million GST exclusive) will be for the delivery organisation’s direct costs, with the majority of the funding ($20.793 million) being to support new formal partnerships between large, high performing independent schools and remote schools with a high proportion of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students. These partnerships are expected to be enduring and to be developed in close consultation with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander education stakeholders.
