The CABQ Community Impact Fund seeks to provide a one-time emergency COVID-19 grant of $2,000 to Albuquerque families experiencing financial hardship.
The City of Albuquerque seeks to provide emergency assistance to families who were previously excluded from federal stimulus aid, do not qualify for unemployment or paid sick leave benefits, or have experienced the loss of employment due to a COVID-19 workplace shutdown.
The Community Impact Fund will offer one-time direct assistance of $2,000 to qualifying households to cover basic needs, food, housing costs, utilities, transportation, school supplies, and other household expenses such as child care, health care, or medical expenses. Assistance can also be used to pay back a loan or debt incurred during the pandemic, or any combination thereof.
Funding Information
- The City of Albuquerque through CARES Act funding has created the CABQ Community Impact Fund, offering $2,000 to qualified applicants.
Eligibility Requirements
To be eligible households must meet the criteria in Group 1 OR Group 2:
GROUP 1:
- Reside in the City of Albuquerque;
- Be ineligible for federal stimulus (didn’t get a stimulus check);
- Be ineligible for unemployment insurance or benefits;
- Experienced job loss or significant reduction in hours or income due to COVID-19;
- Have at least one minor child in the household; and
- Not live in a household with someone who has received funding from the CABQ Community Impact Fund.
GROUP 2:
- Reside in the City of Albuquerque;
- Be ineligible for unemployment insurance, benefits, and sick leave;
- Experience temporary job loss due to a workplace shutdown because of a COVID-19 outbreak or a state-imposed closure;
- Have at least two members in the household; and
- Not live in a household with someone who has received funding from the CABQ Community Impact Fund.
Documents Required
- An applicant will be required to submit government-issued photo identification.
- This information will be kept private through a third-party contractor. As is the policy of the City of Albuquerque identifying information will not be collected by the City nor will it be shared with any other Federal, State, or Local government agencies.
- Acceptable photo identification includes:
- All state or provincial issued driver licenses and identification cards in the United States and Canada;
- All passports worldwide as well as many national ID cards.
