The City of Bunbury is seeking applications for its 2020-2021 Community Grant Program to build strong and resilient communities and can make a better place in which to live, work, and visit.
It is looking for innovative community events and activities that enhance, activate, and promote diversity while building strong and resilient communities.
Funding Categories
- One-off projects
- Up to $5,000 available and a maximum of 50% of the total activity budget for an incorporated not-for-profit organization or individual auspices by an incorporated not-for-profit organization.
- Small community events or one-off projects that are run by and for the local Bunbury community. It is expected that these activities are delivered alongside the community, therefore building the skills and capacity of various community members.
- Capital or Ongoing Programs
- Up to $25,000 available and a maximum of 50% of the total activity budget for an incorporated not-for-profit organization or individual auspices by an incorporated not-for-profit organization.
- Capital purchases for community organizations or ongoing programs that will have a long-lasting positive impact on the Bunbury community. It is expected that these activities will provide increased opportunities for the community to increase their skills and build their capacity, thereby contributing to a more cohesive and capable community.
Activities must achieve one or more of the following:
- Activate public spaces
- Enhance community identity and a sense of belonging
- Contribute to a feeling of safety and security value and welcome diverse cultures promote an active and healthy life
- Be accessible for people with disabilities and inclusive for all demographics, ages and backgrounds
- Establish Bunbury as the most accessible regional City in Australia
- Bring the community together
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible to receive a Community Grant from the City, the Applicant must:
- Be an incorporated not-for-profit organization or an individual auspiced by an incorporated not-for-profit organization.
- Demonstrate that the City’s allocation will be matched financially or in-kind, with all applicants to the community category able to demonstrate matched funded as cash or in-kind contribution. In-kind services must be calculated at $25/hour and these must make up no more than 25% of the total matched funding demonstrated.
- Submit an application through the City’s grant management portal, Smartygrants Bunbury.
- Have all appropriate insurance and licenses relevant to their work.
- Carry out the activity (or significant portion) within the City of Bunbury boundaries from 1 September 2020 to 31 August 2021.
- Demonstrate that the activity is open to the general public and is accessible.
- Demonstrate that the activity will promote the City of Bunbury in a positive manner.
- Only to apply to one category for each activity.
