The City of Logan is seeking applications for its Community Benefit Fund Program.
The Community Benefit Fund (CBF) is a discretionary fund established to allow Council to meet requests for financial assistance from eligible community organizations for community purposes.
Funding Eligibility
The following community organizations those are eligible and ineligible to apply:
Eligible Applicants
- Not-for-profit community organizations
- Primary and Secondary schools
- Neighbourhood Watch groups (approved by the Queensland Police Service)
- Religious institutions
- Parents & Citizens Associations (or equivalent)
- Welfare groups
- Community sporting clubs
- Other community organizations that can demonstrate they meet all of the funding eligibility criteria and can demonstrate the funds will be utilized for a not-for-profit community purpose within the boundaries of Logan City
Ineligible Applicants
- For-profit businesses
- Individuals
- Government or semi-government organisations (with the exception of schools), e.g. hospitals
- Council controlled entities
- Applicants that are based or operate outside of Logan City (unless a direct benefit can be demonstrated within the Logan community)
- Applicants with outstanding grant acquittals
- Applicants with overdue debts to Logan City Council (e.g. rates, hall hire fees)
- Applicants that have applied for, or have already received, funding for the same purpose via any other Logan City Council grant program in the past 12 months
- Political parties and political lobby groups
Eligibility Criteria
Requirements for Eligible Applicants
Eligible applicants must:
-
declare on the funding request form (and provide supporting evidence where possible), that:
- they are based in Logan City; and
- the project or activity will be conducted within the boundaries of Logan City and will benefit members of the Logan community; and/or
- the project or activity will not be conducted within the boundaries of Logan City, but will benefit members of the Logan community; and
-
provide the following with the funding request form:
- a detailed description of how the funding purpose meets at least one of the 'community purpose' categories defined in the Community Benefit Fund Policy; and
- a declaration that any approved funding will be used in a manner that does not cause detriment to members of the community, or cause damage to the reputation of Logan City Council or the City of Logan; and
- a declaration they have, or will ensure, all permits and other approvals relating to the funding application are addressed and that there is adequate insurance to cover the project; and
- a declaration that the community organization is not-for-profit (and provision of evidence where registered as not-for-profit); and
- a declaration that the person signing the application is over 18 and is authorized to sign documents on behalf of the applicant organization (where applicable); and
- a declaration that they will spend and acquit any approved funds within eight (8) weeks of the event/funding purpose; and
- a declaration and the provision of relevant documentation that the organization is financially viable; and
- a declaration that the organization has no overdue debts to Council; and
- provide sufficient documentation with the funding request form to support the request (e.g. quotes, breakdown of costs and expenditure, letters of support); and
- Ensure the request has been made to Council at least ten (10) business days prior to the project or activity being undertaken.
