The East Gippsland Community Foundation is seeking applications for the Community Bushfire Recovery Grants Program to build back better from the Black Summer fires.
Priority will be given to grassroots, community-led initiatives that directly and clearly benefit local communities.
Themes
Funding priority will be given to projects and activities that support:
- bushfire recovery,
- community capacity building,
- disaster planning and preparedness activities
Funding Information
- Applications can be made for grants up to $75,000.
What they Fund?
- Activities which have ongoing benefit to communities in East Gippsland
- Innovative undertakings
- Projects which are in keeping with the mission of the East Gippsland Community Foundation
- Project development activities that will assist the preparation of applications to other major grant programs. For example, the preparation of business plans, socioeconomic assessments, project design and costings
- In any Youth Support grant stream, assistance may be provided to individual students or groups of students or other young people.
What they do not fund?
In accordance with Australian Tax Office Guidelines they are unable to fund:
- Organisations that are not charitable in purpose
- Recreational or commercial sporting activities
- Projects for private or personal benefit
- Activities or events that have already commenced or taken place.
Eligibility Criteria
All organisations applying for funding must:
- Be based in or deliver services within East Gippsland Shire
- Be community focused and function for charitable purposes
- Have a registered ABN
- Be able to demonstrate operational and financial stability.
