The Redding Rancheria Community Fund of the Community Foundation of the North State distributes the charitable giving of the Redding Rancheria. Contributions to this fund come primarily from Win-River Casino, which is owned and operated by the Redding Rancheria.
The Redding Rancheria, located adjacent to the City of Redding, is a Native American tribe comprised of members of the Wintu, Pit River and Yana peoples. The Redding Rancheria traces its origins as a Tribal Government back to 1922 and formally adopted its constitution in 1985.
Funding Information
- Grant proposals should be for no less than $500 and no more than $10,000.
- The average grant size to date is approximately $4,000.
Grants are awarded to
- Nonprofit organizations with a public tax exempt status under Section 501(c) (3) of the Internal Revenue Code, public schools, and other public organizations such as cities, districts, towns, etc.
Eligibility Criteria
Organizations with a grant report past due to the Community Foundation are not eligible to apply. Organizations may submit ONE application per cycle.
- The Community Fund encourages proposals to serve Native Americans, Youth and/or Rural Populations.
- Organizations or projects located in Shasta and/or Trinity counties may apply for funding
- Programs or projects may be for the support of capital improvements/renovations, equipment, programs, services, etc.
- Grants are not awarded to or for:
- Administrative/overhead costs, including personnel costs
- Individuals
- Projects for which grant is being sought should be completed within 12 months of grant receipt.
