The City of Greater Geelong is currently accepting applications for the Community Infrastructure Grants.
Match-funding ensures that applications for Community Infrastructure Grants are viable and provides evidence of the applicant’s commitment to finalising the project. However, under certain circumstances, community groups can apply for an exemption from this requirement.
Funding Information
- Applicants for Community Infrastructure Grants are required to match-fund one dollar for every two dollars they request.
- If the funds required from the City exceed the maximum grant allowed, applicants must also either fund this themselves or secure funding from other sources.
- Evidence of all income must be provided in the grant application.
- The maximum amount of a Community Infrastructure Grant is $400,000 for capital works and $50,000 for planning.
What can you apply for?
- Full or partial exemption from match-funding for the Community infrastructure Grants.
- Match-funding can be cash or the value of in-kind goods and services or a combination of both.
Who can apply?
- Applicants wishing to apply for Community Infrastructure Grants who are one of the following application types:
- Not-for-profit, incorporated bodies or registered under company law who operate on public land managed or owned by Council, or Crown land where the management of the facility is community based and there is access for the broader community (herein referred to as public)
- Not-for-profit, incorporated bodies or registered under company law who operate in facilities not located on Council-owned or managed land; or managed or maintained by Council (herein referred to as private) which provide access for the broader community
- Unincorporated bodies with an auspice
- Schools and learning institutions – only for activities that are not curriculum based and the primary benefit is for the wider community
