The Shoalhaven City Council has launched Community Wellbeing Grants to support local initiatives that maximise community participation, connection and a sense of place for people in the Shoalhaven.
Shoalhaven City Council’s Community Wellbeing Grants program will deliver flexible small-scale grants to fund a range of projects that will support community groups and organisations to design, implement and complete projects that support and enhance the lives of residents in the Shoalhaven in line with the Shoalhaven Community Strategic Plan.
The program supports collaborative efforts between community groups and organisations that are based in the Shoalhaven Local Government Area to deliver local projects that support the vision of Council.
The purpose of the Community Wellbeing Grants is to maximise community participation, connection, and a sense of place for people in the Shoalhaven Local Government Area.
Objectives
- Build inclusive, safe, and connected communities.
- Activate communities through arts, culture, and events.
- Support active, healthy, and liveable communities.
Funding Information
- The Community Wellbeing Grant provides small grants of between $500 and $2000.
Eligible Projects

Project Examples Examples of projects funded by the Community Wellbeing Grant include, but are not limited to:
- Community gardens
- Community cooking classes
- Community festivals and events
- Exercise classes
- Upskilling/training activities for community members
- Community BBQs
- Neighbourhood support programs
- Leadership programs
- Pride programs or activities
Eligibility Criteria
- Registered non-profit community group or organisation or auspiced by a registered non-profit organisation.
- Project provides direct benefit to, and participation by, Shoalhaven residents
- Provision of a ‘no or low cost to participant’ event or activity.
- New projects: Shoalhaven City Council will consider and prioritise applications that demonstrate sustainability or longevity, without relying on long-term grant funding.

Who is not eligible to apply?
- Government organisations.
- Groups or organisations applying on behalf of a government organisation.
- Individuals, groups of individuals, for-profit commercial organisations, and service clubs who intend to supplement their fundraising for a third party’s projects.
- Political parties registered or not.
- Groups or organisations that are directly or indirectly associated with a political party, registered or not.
- Any organisation or group which has not completed an acquittal for previous projects that have been funded by Shoalhaven City Council.
