The Council of Europe has launched a call for proposals for initiatives on transparency and citizen participation in Ukraine under the frame work of its project “Promoting Local Democracy in Ukraine”,implemented by the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities of the Council of Europe.

The call aims to support selected municipalities in planning, designing and implementing sustainable and replicable citizen participation actions with the larger aim to encourage local authorities to become more open, inclusive, responsive, transparent and accountable to citizens, and to take gender perspective into account.

The project’s overall objective is to improve the implementation of democratic principles through enhanced institutional and leadership capacities of local elected authorities and by disseminating nation-wide best practices of local democracy through:
