The State of Minnesota has provided Swift County with $250,000 to provide economic relief grants to local businesses and nonprofits adversely affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Funding Information
- The State of Minnesota has provided Swift County with $250,000.
- Grant sizes will vary from $2,000-$7,000.
Eligibility Criteria
- Applicants must have a physical establishment in Swift County. If there is a parent organization/company or a second location outside of Swift County, only entity located in Swift County can apply
- For profits or 501(c)(3) are eligible to apply
- Applicants must be able to demonstrate and document a financial hardship as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic
- Applicants must be in good standing with the Minnesota Secretary of State with no outstanding tax liens filed against the organization
- Organizations that opened during the pandemic are eligible. However, the applicants will need to provide clear documentation of how the pandemic impacted the operating expenses of the organization/company. No start-up costs are to be considered
- Organizations must have generated at least $10,000 in revenue through the end of 2020 to be eligible
- Applicants must certify in good faith that all documentation submitted is accurate and that any misrepresentations or fraudulent information will require recoupment of funds
- Home-based businesses or nonprofits are eligible so long as they have at least one or more W-2 employees in addition to the principal. Home-based businesses are defined as businesses where the primary office is registered at the owner’s residence/property
- Businesses/nonprofits that primarily derive income from gambling are ineligible
- Applicant business or nonprofit was operating prior to July 1, 2020
- Corporate chains, multi-state chains are ineligible
- Applicants will need to document the number of employees as of February 1, 2020 with their application
- The applicant will acknowledge that Swift County retains the final authority to determine if a business is eligible or not, whether to approve a grant or not and the final grant amount
