Creative New Zealand is seeking applications for its Arts Continuity Grant 2020 to support a short-term arts project, or the stage of a project, that can be delivered within a changed and evolving environment as a result of COVID-19.
Projects can include the creation and/or presentation of new work. Existing projects submitted to suspended funds can be reframed and resubmitted.
The supported activity includes:
- research
- creative development
- professional development
- promotion
- distribution.
The Arts Continuity Grant cannot support costs or losses incurred as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic or any historic organisational debt.
Arts Continuity Grant Programme Purposes
To receive an Arts Continuity Grant, your project must achieve one of the four programme purposes below. Be sure to make a statement in your application about how your project will achieve one of them.
- Sustaining careers for artists, arts practitioners, groups and organisations
- Development of arts practice
- Innovation in New Zealand arts
- Opportunities for diverse communities to access and participate in high-quality arts experiences
Grant Information
- The maximum amount you can apply for is $50,000.
- The fund only offers support for projects, or the stage of it for which you are seeking funding that:
- can be completed by 30 September 2020
- excludes international travel and physical gathering/participation
Eligibility Criteria
- Individuals who are New Zealand (NZ) citizens or permanent residents.
- NZ-based organisations
- To apply under Māori arts:
- individual applicants must be Tangata Whenua Māori or your proposed project must be managed or directed by Māori
- organizations must be Māori-led. If an organisation is applying for funding on behalf of an individual, that person must also be Māori.
- To apply under Pacific arts – whether you’re an individual or organisation:
- you must be a New Zealand citizen or New Zealand permanent resident
- your project must align to the Pacific Arts Strategy, and Kaupapa Pasifika must be evident in the practice of the project non-Pacific applicants are eligible, but the project must deliver outcomes to Pacific art and artists.
- International organisations are not eligible to apply for an Arts Continuity Grant.
Timing
- Your project, or the stage of it for which you are seeking funding, must be completed by 30 September 2020.
- All grants will be paid by 30 June 2020.
- Only those costs which will be incurred post 14 April 2020 or from the date of your project starting will be considered eligible.
