Creative New Zealand is now accepting applications for its Transition Fund 2022-23.
The Transition Fund is intended to assist organisations who received Toi Uru Kahikatea funding in 2020-2022 but have not been offered funding for 2023-2025 to adapt to their new funding context. You can propose funding toward activities such as restructure costs, re-strategising, committed programme costs for 2023, or other bridging costs while new revenue streams are developed.
Types of Funding

Ngā toi Māori funding

To apply for Ngā toi Māori funding:
- you must be Māori, or your project must be managed or directed by Māori
- organisations, groups or collectives must be Māori-led. If an organisation is applying for funding on behalf of an individual, that person must also be Māori.

Pacific arts funding

To apply for Pacific arts funding:
- your activities must align to their Pacific Arts Strategy 2018-2023
- Kaupapa Pasifika will be evident in the practice of your activities
- the activities will deliver outcomes to Pacific arts and artists

Duration
Eligible organisations are offered up to 75% of their 2022 Kahikatea funding level, pro-rated for a 6-month period.
What cannot be funded?
- Activities that have been or will be funded through other Creative New Zealand opportunities (Arts Grants etc)
- Activities that are not funded by Creative New Zealand in general.
- New programme activities that were not proposed in your RFP submission.
Eligibility Criteria
They accept applications from:
- Individuals who are New Zealand citizens or permanent residents
- New Zealand-based organisations
- International arts organisations. But the application must show benefits to New Zealand arts.
- Your project or activities must directly benefit New Zealand arts, artists or practitioners.
