The call for proposals “Civil society communication and advocacy campaigns on the Council of Europe Istanbul Convention by piloting the joint methodology developed by Council of Europe, WAVE Network and UN Women in one country: Czech Republic, Latvia or Poland”, aims to pilot the joint methodology by supporting projects from CSOs working in these pilot countries in 2021.
The grants will fund projects designed to pilot the joint Council of Europe, WAVE Network and UN Women methodology in one of three countries (Czech Republic, Latvia, Poland). The national CSOs shall submit the projects of national communication and advocacy campaigns using the attached guidelines to this call for proposals. The projects selected can be streamlined throughout the piloting process.
The project shall be carried out by CSOs with expertise and experience in work related to combatting violence against women and domestic violence in one of three pilot countries: Czech Republic, Latvia, Poland.
Throughout the projects’ implementation the Council of Europe will organise accompanying activities to support NGOs in running their campaigns and to strengthen their communication capacities.
Funding Information
- The indicative available budget under this call for proposals is 45 000 Euros (forty-five thousand Euros). The Council of Europe intends to award 3 grants of a maximum amount of 15 000 Euros (fifteen thousand Euros) each (one grant per each pilot country).
- The implementation period of the projects will run from 19 April 2021 and shall not extend beyond 1 November 2021.
Eligibility Criteria
In order to be eligible for a grant, an applicant must:
- be legally constituted as a non-governmental organisation in one of three targeted countries (Czech Republic, Latvia, Poland);
- be entitled to carry out in one of three targeted countries activities described in its project proposal;
- have been active for at least 4 years in the field of combatting violence against women and domestic violence
- have sufficient financial capacity (stable and sufficient sources of funding) to maintain its activity throughout the period for which the grant is awarded and to participate by way of its own resources (including human resources or in-kind contributions);
- have sufficient operational and professional capacity, including staff, to carry out activities described in its project proposal;
- have a bank account.
