The ELELE DESTEK is pleased to announce an open call for applications to Culture and Art for Dialogue: Civil Society Organizations Capacity Building Grant Program.
ELELE DESTEK, within the scope of the “Dialogue for Change Through Culture and Art (hand in hand) Project” supported by the EU and carried out in partnership with Youth Services Center Association (GSM), Flying Broom Foundation and State Theater Opera and Ballet Employees Assistance Foundation (TOBAV). It is a sub-grant program. With this program, whose primary aim is Institutional Capacity Building , it is aimed to contribute to the realization and development/strengthening of CSOs actively working in the field of culture and arts.
In addition, the Online Training and Coaching Program for NGOs who are entitled to receive sub-grants from ELELE DESTEK will be held simultaneously. Grant recipient institutions are required to participate in this program.
What Does It Cover?
- HAND SUPPORT; It aims to develop the capacities of relatively small CSOs that support rights-based culture and rights-based contemporary individual/collective and creative/artistic expressions through sub-grants, while strengthening their organizational and institutional capacity, and thus maintaining their activities independently.
- Local NGOs constitute the priority group of the program. This sub-grant support will meet the capacity building needs of local NGOs, which have relatively limited access to funding sources, and support their development.
Funding Information
- Two separate sub-grant calls will be made during the Dialogue for Change through Culture and Art Project. Within the scope of these calls, sub-grant support amounting to a total of 1.000.000 Euro will be provided.
- Lower Limit: 15,000 Euros
- Upper Limit: 20.000 Euros.
What Types of Activities Are Eligible?
- NGOs may submit proposals in the following areas without restriction within the scope of the stated general and specific purpose:
- Developing Governance Capacity:
- Developing and implementing strategies and action plans to build capacity in internal governance, finance and project management, fund raising, fund diversification, communication and visibility, Developing democratic
- internal governance, improving decision-making processes, and increasing the representation of women, youth and people with disabilities. Strengthening internal democracy,
- Developing problem-solving, strategic analysis and policy-making skills,
- Developing the capacity of CSOs to deliver services locally through specific measures and actions and capacity building.
- Developing Human Resources Management Capacity:
- Developing the human resources
- management capacity of CSOs for effective volunteering/membership and strengthening the ties between member/volunteer/support groups
- Development of recruitment and employment mechanism or procedures for
- Developing Organization and Event Capacity:
- Organization of meetings to organize arts and cultural events.
- Digital Transformation and Improving Communication Capacity
- Developing communication and technology skills for visibility and promotion of the work carried out by the NGO.
- Improving Mobility Capacity
- Participation in national or international networking meetings in the field of culture.
- Developing Governance Capacity:
Criteria
- Non-profit, legal entities listed can apply to the ELELE SUPPORT Program:
- Society
- Foundation
- non-profit cooperative.
- Proposals of NGOs wishing to apply for sub-grants should be submitted in line with the following expected objectives and output:
- General objective (The desired effect): To reduce the social exclusion of young men and women aged 15 – 29 in Turkey.
- Specific objective (Expected outcome): Increasing intercultural and interfaith dialogue between young men and women aged 15 to 29.
- Expected output: Strengthened organizational capacity for NGOs organizing intercultural and interfaith arts events for young women and men.
- In order to apply for a sub-grant, the applicant and, if any, co-applicant(s) must meet the following conditions:
- The articles of association of cooperatives must contain a provision that prevents the distribution of profits to shareholders. In the absence of this provision, it must prove through a financial audit report covering the last three years that its profits have not been distributed to the shareholders. In addition, the Board of Directors must have made an ‘irrevocable’ decision that the profit will not be distributed to the shareholders in subsequent years. (If any, a copy of this decision published in the trade registry gazette should be submitted.)
- Branches of NGOs can independently apply for sub-grants. A maximum of 2 branches affiliated to the same NGO can receive support during a call period. Applications by representatives are not accepted. Headquarters and branches of NGOs cannot participate in the same project as applicants and co-applicants.
- The applicant and, if applicable, the co-applicant(s) must have the management capacity, professional competencies, expertise and qualifications to implement the submitted project.
- Non-Governmental Organizations to apply must have been established in Turkey and have been operating for at least 3 years. As a continuation of structures such as initiatives, initiatives, groups, networks, platforms, civil society coalitions, NGOs that have acquired legal personality but have been operating for less than 3 years can also apply. CSOs in this situation should be able to document their past fieldwork and activities (activity reports, meeting minutes, application forms and project reports, if any, of the projects they have implemented, photographs, etc.).
- The applicant NGO must have stable and sufficient funding sources. This criterion is not required for co-applicants.
