The U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ), Office of Justice Programs (OJP), Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (OJJDP) is seeking applications for funding under the fiscal year (FY) 2017 Community-Level Youth Violence Prevention Research and Evaluation Program.
This project furthers the Department’s mission to support methodologically rigorous research and evaluations with practical implications for efforts to prevent and reduce youth violence and exposure to violence at the community level.
The goal of this research and evaluation program is to generate knowledge and tools with practical implications for efforts to prevent and reduce youth violence and exposure to violence at the community level. Applicants should identify their primary area of study to address gaps in either:
- understanding efficient and effective approaches for the dissemination and implementation of community-based violence prevention and control strategies, or
- advancing the study of the effectiveness of community-based violence prevention programs.
Funding Information
- OJJDP expects to make multiple awards of up to $500,000 each, with an estimated total amount awarded of up to $1,000,000.
- OJJDP expects to make awards for up to a 48-month period of performance, to begin on October 1, 2017
Eligibility Criteria
- Nonprofits that do not have a 501(c)(3) status with the IRS, other than institutions of higher education
- Public and State controlled institutions of higher education
- Private institutions of higher education
- State governments
- Small businesses
- Native American tribal governments (Federally recognized)
- City or township governments
- For profit organizations other than small businesses
- Nonprofits having a 501(c)(3) status with the IRS, other than institutions of higher education
- County governments
- Eligible applicants are limited to states (including territories), units of local government, federally recognized tribal governments as determined by the Secretary of the Interior, nonprofit organizations and for-profit organizations (including tribal nonprofit and for-profit organizations), and institutions of higher education (including tribal institutions of higher education). For-profit organizations (as well as other recipients) must agree to forgo any profit or management fee.
- Foreign governments, foreign organizations, and foreign institutions of higher education are not eligible to apply
