The Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) is seeking applications for its Australian Cultural Diplomacy Grants Program (ACDGP) 2018 which is a part of the International Relations Grants Program.
The Australian Cultural Diplomacy Grants Program (ACDGP) supports the delivery of high-quality public diplomacy initiatives which promote our economic, artistic, and cultural assets to an international audience. These initiatives strengthen Australia’s reputation as an innovative, creative nation and foster collaborative people-to-people links internationally.
Objectives
The objectives of the ACDGP 2018 are to:
- Support innovative collaboration and exchange.
- Promote our economic, artistic and cultural assets to an international audience.
- Expand audiences and markets.
- Build people-to-people links internationally.
- Leverage existing partnerships and fostering engagement with key stakeholders in line with 2017 Foreign Policy White Paper.
- Support other DFAT policies and programs where possible, including DFAT’s major public diplomacy initiatives such as Australia now (Japan 2018).
- Influence perceptions of Australia at home and abroad.
Funding Information
- Between $400,000 and $500,000 in 2018-19 is expected to be available for this grant opportunity, subject to appropriation, starting in July 2018.
- Grant applications for a maximum of $60,000 per year for up to three years will be considered.
- It is anticipated that most grants will be between $40,000 and $60,000 per year, depending on the scope of the grant activity and its complexity.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible applicants must:
- be one of the following entity types:
- an Australian entity with an Australian Business Number (ABN) or Australian Company Number (ACN)
- an Australian consortium with a lead organisation
- an Australian registered charity or not-for-profit organisation
- an Australian local government body
- an Australian State/Territory government body
- a corporate Commonwealth entity
- an Australian statutory authority
- be an Australian citizen or permanent resident of Australia
- and be willing to provide or develop child protection guidelines for applicants project if it involves people under the age of 18 years
