DFAT Request for Proposals: Water for Women Fund

RISE offering $5,000 in Seed Funding to improve access to clean Water, Sanitation and Hygiene

The Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) is currently inviting proposals from eligible Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) to implement gender and socially inclusive Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) projects in South Asia, South-East Asia and the Pacific through the Water for Women Fund.

The Fund is a flagship program in Australia’s engagement in Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH). The Fund draws on lessons from DFAT’s Civil Society WASH Fund (the CS WASH Fund), due to end in June 2018.

The Fund will operate in South Asia (Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka), South-East Asia (Cambodia, Indonesia, Lao PDR, Myanmar, Philippines, Timor-Leste and Vietnam) and Pacific (Fiji, Kiribati, Papua New Guinea, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Tonga, Tuvalu and Vanuatu).

Operational objectives

The goal of the Water for Women Fund is ‘Improved health, gender equality and well-being of Asian and Pacific communities through inclusive, sustainable WASH.’

Contributions will be made to the goal through four end-of-program outcomes:

Funding Information

Grants for each proposal (inclusive of funds sought for inception and implementation) are expected to range from a minimum of AUD$2.5 million to a maximum of AUD$10 million across five years.
