Deadline: 7 December 2018
The UK’s Department for International Development (DFID) is inviting applications for its Jobs and Economic Transformation (JET) Programme in Ghana that will help stimulate more and better jobs and support resilient growth and poverty reduction.
The programme will support increased investment at scale into manufacturing and industrial sectors which in turn will boost productivity by introducing new technology and management capabilities, increase the capabilities of the workforce and diffuse these improvements into the wider economy.
The programme is being delivered within the context of a Ghana beyond aid with strong Government ownership and leadership around industrialisation. The programme is therefore expected to be delivered in close collaboration with the Government of Ghana with the programme advisory committee co-chaired by the Government and DFID.
JET is expected to generate formal employment and economic diversification by supporting priority industrial sectors with potential to create jobs and generate investments at scale.
Whilst the programme will work with the private sector and other stakeholders it is expected to be delivered with strong Government leadership and engagement to maximise UK Government impact, engagement and influence around Ghana’s beyond aid ambitions.
