E-waste Infrastructure Grants Program – Australia

The Government of Western Australia has launched the E-waste Infrastructure Grants Program to support the ban by funding increased e-waste collection, storage and/or reuse including e-waste processing/recycling.

The ban supports the objectives in the Waste Avoidance and Resource Recovery Strategy 2030 to recover more valuable resources from waste and to protect the environment by managing waste responsibly. The Department of Water and Environmental Regulation will administer $10 million in grant funding over the next two years through a series of competitive grant rounds.

Objectives

This strategy includes three objectives to guide the Western Australian community and enable the development of a sustainable, low-waste and circular economy.

Projects funded will increase e-waste collection, storage, reuse, reprocessing and recycling capacity and capability under two streams:
