ECA/CHC: Safeguarding the Heritage of the Near East Initiative Collaborative Services Award

Council for Australian-Arab Relations Grant Program

Deadline: 14 December 2016

The United States Department of State (DOS), Bureau of Near Eastern Affairs, Office of Press and Public Diplomacy (NEA/PPD) and Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs, Cultural Heritage Center (ECA/CHC) are seeking applications for Safeguarding the Heritage of the Near East Initiative Collaborative Services Award.

The program addresses the extraordinary challenges to governments and NGOs working to preserve the cultural heritage of Syria, Iraq, and Libya.

The award seeks to document the damage being done by violent extremist and conflict damage to the cultural heritage in Syria, Iraq and Libya, and to strengthen the capacity of local actors in Syria, Iraq, and Libya to safeguard their cultural heritage, recognizing that each country presents unique challenges.

The Department requires substantive services and assistance to support its goal, to support the overall program, and to provide collaborative services that benefit all participants as described in this notice of funding opportunity. The required support will be achieved through a cooperative agreement with an institution, or group of institutions that have expertise in the cultural heritage of these countries.

Funding Information: The Department intends to award one cooperative agreement for one base year at $900,000, pending availability of funds.
