The U.S. Embassy Tbilisi Public Diplomacy Section of the U.S. Department of State announces an open competition for organizations to submit applications to carry out a program to support economic development projects related to Georgia’s unique culture and heritage, with a particular focus on lesser known or less visited sites.
Program Objectives
- Support tourism and economic development in Georgia.
- Increase awareness of or access to cultural heritage sites or locations of cultural importance
- Development and protection of natural heritage sites.
Funding Information
- Total available funding: $200,000
- Award amounts: awards may range from a minimum of $25,000 to a maximum of $75,000
- Length of performance period: 6 to 24 months
Participants and Audiences: Rural communities and municipalities.
Eligibility Criteria
- The following local organizations are eligible to apply:
- Local community action groups and municipalities
- Non-governmental, Not-for-profit organizations
- Governmental institutions
- Legal Entities of Public Law
- For-profit organizations in partnership with Local community action groups and municipalities.
Examples of projects may include, but are not limited to:
- Improve access to cultural and natural heritage sites.
- Develop critical infrastructure to improve use of heritage sites.
- Campaigns, informational activities, development of audio guides.
