The Open Society Foundation for South Africa (OSF-SA) is accepting proposals for the Education, Disseminating Information to Increase Youth Participation to develop and implement policies to meet their needs, forms the cornerstone of our democracy.
The South African Constitution sets the rules of how the three spheres of government: the national, provincial, and local government work. Citizens of South Africa have the right to choose their government through elections.
Section 19(3) of the Bill of Rights states that “every adult citizen has the right to vote in elections for any legislative body established in terms of the Constitution and to do so in secret.”
It is based on the above reasons that they have decided to issue a call for proposals that will consider organisations in three provinces of the country—the Eastern Cape, Limpopo and KwaZulu-Natal—who are doing work to strengthen the electoral process.

- Proposed project budget: R300 000 to R1 500?000
- Duration: 10-12 months
Eligibility Criteria
- Projects will only be considered from NPOs in South Africa.
- OSF-SA does not fund individual consultants who are not affiliated to registered civil society organisations.
- OSF-SA encourages partnerships and accepts joint proposals. For example, a partnership between a civil society organisation and an academic institution is welcomed.
