The El Camino Health is seeking applications for its Community Benefit Grant Program to address specific health needs.
In addition to providing high-quality medical care to community, the hospitals commit resources to community for health education and disease prevention, particularly to the underserved and at risk.
Funding Priorities
To qualify for funding, applicants program must address an identified health need within one of the following three funding priorities:
- Healthy Body (Healthcare Access & Delivery, Diabetes & Obesity, Chronic Conditions (other than Diabetes & Obesity) and Oral Health)
- Healthy Mind (Behavioral Health and Cognitive Decline)
- Healthy Community (Domestic Violence, Falls Prevention, Economic/Housing Stability)
Eligibility Criteria
- Eligible organizations include nonprofits, government-sponsored health programs, school districts and community coalitions with a history of service to the residents of community.
- In order for a potential grantee to be considered eligible for Community Benefit Program funding, the grant program must:
- Address identified health need(s) in one of the Health Priority areas
- Meet geographic requirement by serving individuals who live, work or go to school in the District boundaries or Hospital service area
- What does the Community Benefit Grant Program not fund?
- Contributions to individuals
- Political campaigns and legislative lobbying efforts
- Endowments
- Existing deficits
- Fund drives
- Medical research
- Research on drug therapies or devices
- Cultural events
- Projects that exclusively serve religious purposes
