The UN Women is accepting applications for Elimination of violence against women and peacebuilding.
Strengthen women’s participation in national decision-making, particularly those related to peace and security, through the implementation of Ecuador’s Action Plan for Resolution 1325.
Increase social awareness of gender equality, reducing social tolerance of discrimination, racism, xenophobia, and violence against women and girls, especially in public spaces, by strengthening civil society and local governments within the framework of the Safe Cities program in Imbabura, Ibarra, Otavalo, and Guayaquil.
Priority Areas
- The six priority areas are:
- Expanding women’s voices, leadership, and participation.
- Eliminating violence against women and girls.
- Strengthening the implementation of the women’s peace and security agenda.
- Increasing women’s economic empowerment.
- Making gender equality priorities central to national, local, and sectoral plans, budgets, and statistics.
- Implementing global standards, policies, and benchmarks on gender equality and women’s empowerment, laying the foundation for action by governments and other stakeholders at all levels.
Funding Information
- The budget range for this proposal should be USD 105,000 to USD 110,000.
Expected Outcomes
- Within this framework, UN Women seeks to develop these two outcomes:
- Strengthened participation of women in decision-making spaces at the national level, particularly those related to peace and security, with the implementation of the Action Plan for Ecuador’s Resolution 1325.
- Increased social awareness of gender equality, reducing social tolerance toward discrimination, racism, xenophobia, and violence against women and girls, especially in public spaces, strengthening civil society and local governments within the framework of the Safe Cities program in Imbabura, Ibarra, Otavalo, and Guayaquil.
Eligibility Criteria
- The implementing partner must have the following experience:
- At least 5 years of experience in gender equality and the elimination of violence against women.
- At least 1 proven experience in issues related to sexual harassment and violence in public spaces.
- At least 1 experience working in contexts of social violence and conflict.
- At least 1 year of proven experience in capacity-building activities for public bodies and civil society organizations.
