The Embassy of Japan in Georgia is seeking applications for its Grant Assistance for Grassroots Cultural Grant Projects (GCGP) to provide nonrefundable financial assistance to support the implementation of cultural, sport and higher education projects conducted by non-profit organizations (including non-governmental organizations -NGOs, local authorities, research and higher education institutions, etc.) that are active at Georgia’s Grassroots level.

GCGP directly supports the promotion of culture and higher education in Georgia, while also acting as cooperation which encourages understanding and cultural exchanges with Japan. Therefore, having a “bridging element” of two countries in the Project Application has a vital importance.

Project Areas

As long as a development project for the promotion of culture, sports and higher education in Georgia is geared to the Grassroots Assistance, Project Proposal is eligible for financing under the GCGP. It is highly desirable for project to be enhancing cultural ties between Georgia and Japan. GCGP projects are designed to be fully sustainable for minimum ten years. Providing rational guarantees for Sustainability is a must.

Funding Information

The maximum grant amount available for each project for the Fiscal year 2017 is expected to be 90 000 USD.
