The Embassy of Canada to Iraq, Baghdad is accepting proposals for the Canada Fund for Local Initiatives (CFLI) which supports small project grants for the fiscal year 2018/2019.
Thematic Priorities
- Gender equality and the empowerment of women and girls.
- Inclusive governance, including diversity, democracy, human rights and the rule of law.
- Peace and security, with a focus on conflict prevention and building peace.
- Environment and climate action focusing on adaptation and mitigation, as well as on water management.
Funding Information
Total amount covering the program for FY 2018-2019 is 142,500.00 CAD, the average funding amount for each proposal is 35,000.00- 45,000.00 CAD
Eligibility Criteria
- local non-governmental, community and not-for-profit organizations,
- local academic institutions working on local projects,
- international, intergovernmental, multilateral and regional institutions, organizations and agencies working on local development activities,
- municipal, regional or national government institutions or agencies of the recipient in country working on local projects, and
- Canadian non-governmental and not-for-profit organizations that are working on local development activities.
