The Embassy of Ireland is currently accepting concept notes from Vietnamese Universities, Research Institutes and Vocational Colleges for its Vietnam Ireland Bilateral Education Exchange (VIBE) Programme to foster educational co-operation between Ireland and Vietnam.
VIBE is an initiative of the Embassy of Ireland under the Irish Development Experience Sharing (IDEAS) Programme to facilitate education links between Ireland and Vietnam.
The Irish Development Experience Sharing Programme (IDEAS) was launched in 2009 to support capacity building activities by Vietnamese institutions in technical, governance, and policy development fields, by providing targeted technical and educational training together with close interaction between relevant Vietnamese institutions and their Irish counterparts.
Objectives
- The overall objective of the VIBE programme is to contribute to Vietnam’s socio-economic development priorities by encouraging mutually beneficial links between the two countries, with particular reference to strengthening capacity in third-level education and research.
- The specific objective is to act as a catalyst to encourage and deepen third-level education and research links by supporting the initiation of a number of new linkages between Irish and Vietnamese education and research institutions.
Priority Areas
The disciplines of VIBE programme should reflect the overall objectives of contributing to sustainable socio-economic development in Vietnam and the Government of Vietnam’s sectoral priorities for overseas education and research collaboration. Prioritised areas for the 2019 call are:
- Agribusiness, Food Safety and Nutrition
- Environment and climate change
- Enterprise Development and Innovation
- Information Technology and Data analytics
