Government of Japan as part of Official Development Assistance (hereinafter, ODA) implements many programs that meet the various needs of developing countries. IN1997 Kazakhstan has launched the Gratuitous Social Assistance Program Human Security Projects, known as the Roots Program herbs “(hereinafter, the program” Grass roots “).
The Grass Roots program aims to support ongoing projects non-profit organizations and providing direct assistance to sociale conomic development of ordinary people. The goal of the program is also ensuring human security of the population.
Goals
- Royalty-free financial assistance for the program “Roots of Grass” is providedschools, hospitals, non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and other non-profit organizations to assist in the implementation of their social projects.
- Possibility of financing the Grass Roots program in each respondentthe requirements of the country are ensured by Japanese ODA, which, along with updated content assistance, directedly affects the welfare of the common population. Since these funds come to ODA from taxes of ordinary residents of Japan, the Embassy carefully examines the feasibility and cost-effectiveness of each declared project.
Funding Information
The grant amount for one project cannot exceed 10 million yen, whichis approximately $ 90,000 (depends on the USD exchange rate for the current financial year).
Criteria
Any type of nonprofit organization can become a grant recipient. The onlythe requirement is that it must be a non-profit organization that implementsprojects in the field of socio-economic development of the common population in the Republic Kazakhstan. The following are examples of potential recipients:
- Educational institutions (elementary schools, etc.).
- Medical facilities (Hospitals, Clinics, etc.);
- Local authorities (Akimat);
- Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs);
- Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs), Public Funds (PF);
Therefore, private individuals and commercial organizations cannot fileStatements. Regarding Applications from international organizations, they are acceptedonly if the submitted project cannot be implemented by another local non-profit organization.
