The Embassy of Sweden in Abuja is seeking applications from eligible organisations for its 2017 small grants programme (SGP) with an aim to support small-scale sustainable development projects and activities that are participatory in nature and preferably, with a long term impact that can be monitored and measured.

Eligibility Criteria
- SGP partnership opportunity is available to community groups, reputable local, NGOs, private sector entities, academic institutions, research bodies, disability groups, social enterprise groups or other registered organisations engaged in development activities.
- SGP activities should have a tangible humanitarian or development outcome and proposals need to demonstrate this clearly.
- Projects must be sustainable. Proposals need to demonstrate a commitment on the part of beneficiaries to implement the activities and sustain them.
- Activities must be able to be implemented (i.e. must have an identifiable outcome) by the end of the financial year in which the money has been granted.
- Where the project proposal has been submitted to other possible funding sources, or is being implemented in conjunction with other sources, this must be clearly stated in the project proposal.
- Eligible Activities: Special attention is given to activities that:
- Address gender equality and women’s empowerment;
- Focus on disability rights
- Have environmental dimensions
- Capacity development
- IT related events
How to Apply
- Interested organisations can submit a concept note via email at the address given on the website.
- Concept notes should:
- Not exceed two pages, including a summary budget and contact details.
- Provide a concise description of the proposed project.
- Address the requirements outlined above.
