The Italian Agency for Development Cooperation (AICS) has announced a call for applications for the Emergency Initiative to Support the Population Hit by Cyclones Idai and Kenneth in Mozambique.

This Call for Applications indicates a selection procedure for project proposals presented by OSC operating in Mozambique. Projects will focus on responses to the humanitarian needs of multiple populations vulnerable areas affected by cyclones Idai and Kenneth during 2019, foreseeing the inclusion of key assets response to the COVID-19 emergency to cope with the secondary impacts of the pandemic and activities in the of social protection for the population affected by the insecurity dictated by the exclation of armed attacks in the Cabo Delgado province.

In order to ensure the presence of projects in the three geographical areas covered by the intervention, the distribution of the funds will take place according to the following scheme:

The specific objective of the initiative is to respond to the urgent humanitarian needs of the most vulnerable populations affected by Cyclones Idai and Kenneth during 2019 and promote the protection of the most vulnerable groups among internally displaced persons and host communities in the northern areas of the country, strengthening resilience guaranteeing protection to the beneficiary populations through the restoration of basic essential services in sectors: Food Safety, WASH and Health.
