Emergency Planning Demonstration Program for Juvenile Justice Residential Facilities – United States

LFW Race Equity Grants (US)

Deadline: 30-Apr-24

The U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ), Office of Justice Programs (OJP), Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (OJJDP) is seeking applications for funding under the FY 2024 Emergency Planning Demonstration Program for Juvenile Justice Residential Facilities program.

OJP is committed to advancing work that promotes civil rights and equity, increases access to justice, supports crime victims and individuals impacted by the justice system, strengthens community safety, protects the public from crime and evolving threats, and builds trust between law enforcement and the community.

With this solicitation, OJJDP seeks to support emergency planning for state, local, and Tribal juvenile justice residential facilities. For youth who reside in residential facilities, it is crucial that applicants plan for and facilitate continued meaningful engagement with family and other supportive members of their community. Applicants are encouraged to ensure that these activities and strategies are prioritized in any emergency planning effort. The safety and wellbeing of youth and staff is paramount as well as ensuring that youth residing in facilities can maintain meaningful contact with family and supportive members of their community during an emergency.

This program furthers DOJ’s mission to uphold the rule of law, keep their country safe, and protect civil rights.
