The European Union (EU) is currently accepting proposals from eligible organisations for program entitled “Grant Facility for Micro Small Medium Enterprise in Kosovo” in order to contribute to strengthening the local economy and reduce trade deficit in Kosovo by improving the capacities of Micro, Small, Medium sized enterprises (MSME).
The programme is divided into two lots:
- Lot 1: Low capital intensive sectors (ICT, Service, Textile and Leather processing).
- Lot 2: High capital intensive sectors (Wood processing including furniture, Metal works and metal processing, Tourism.
Objectives
- Increase and improve production capacities, economic impact, and competitiveness of selected MSME’s in line with the EU quality management standards;
- Increase exports, substitute imports and facilitate job creation;
- Support innovation, diversification and development of business activities in the 6 priority sectors such as:
- Wood processing including furniture;
- Information and communication technologies (ICT);
- Textiles and leather processing;
- Metal works and metal processing;
- Services;
- Tourism
Size of Grants
Any grant requested under this call for proposals must fall between the followingminimum and maximum amounts:
- Lot 1:
- minimum amount: EUR 20,000.00
- maximum amount: EUR 100,000.00
- Lot 2:
- minimum amount: EUR 20,000.00
- maximum amount: EUR 250,000.00
Eligibility Criteria
- In order to be eligible for a grant, applicants must:
- be legal persons
- be 100% privately owned micro, small or medium-sized enterprise (according to the Kosovo definition and law )
- be registered and operational in Kosovo for any period before January 2017 in the 6 priority sectors mentioned above
- be directly responsible for the preparation and management of the action with the co-applicant(s) and affiliated entity(ies), not acting as an intermediary;
- Potential applicants may not participate in calls for proposals or be awarded grants ifthey are in any of the situations
- The lead applicant must declare that the lead applicant himself, the co-applicant(s) and affiliated entity(ies)are not in any of these situations.
- The lead applicant may act individually or with co-applicant(s).
- If awarded the grant contract, the lead applicant will become the beneficiary identified as the Coordinator. The Coordinator is the main interlocutor of the Contracting Authority. It represents and acts on behalf of any other co-beneficiary (if any) and coordinate the design and implementation of the action.
How to Apply
- The application procedure consists of two phases:
- Concept notes
- Full applications
- In the first instance, only concept notes must be submitted for evaluation. Thereafter, lead applicants who have been pre-selected will be invited to submit a full application.
