The European Union has announced a call for proposals to support for the consultation and participation procedure of indigenous populations and local communities within the framework of the project to create the protected area of Messok Dja in the Republic of Congo.

The general objective of this call for proposals is to support the consultation and participation procedure ofindigenous populations and local communities, in accordance with the provisions of Decree No. 2019-201 of 12 July 2019 (hereinafter, decree 2019-201) setting the consultation and participation procedures indigenous populations to socio-economic development projects and programs, in the context of the project to create the Messok Dja protected area in the Republic of Congo.

The specific objectives are:

Support the activities prior to the implementation of the consultation and participation of indigenous peoples and local communities

Support the implementation of the population consultation and participation procedure indigenous peoples and local communities

In this context, and while ensuring the application of the inclusion-based approach, the participation and non-discrimination, targeting (among others) equality between women and men, the representation of different age groups, the protection of children’s rights, the promotion of Indigenous Peoples’ rights and equal treatment of people living with disabilities, priority activities are:

Funding Information

The overall indicative amount made available under this call for proposals is EUR 211,850. The Contracting Authority reserves the right not to allocate all of the available funds.
