Feed the Minds: Empowering Marginalised People in the Global South!

Fund for the Triangle Responsive Grantmaking in the US

Deadline: 26 June 2018

Feed the Minds is inviting applications for its projects to empower marginalised people in the Global South through their Education for Change programme.

Feed the Minds is an international development charity that aims to contribute to a world in which people everywhere have the opportunity to live life in all its fullness.

Projects are implemented by local non-governmental organisations or community-based organisations working to support marginalised communities.  FTM partners range from small organisations new to project management to larger organisations working across several countries.  Some FTM partners are Christian; some are of different faiths while others are of none. Literacy is central to FTM’s strategy therefore all partners are asked to take literacy into consideration when designing their projects.

Themes

FTM supports projects in three thematic areas:

  1. Economic Empowerment – projects may be in the areas of vocational training or agriculture and should target adults of low economic status who have limited access to employment and income opportunities. Applications need to show a clear need for the project and realistic opportunities for sustainable income generation.
  2. Citizenship – projects that support poor communities or marginalised groups to engage in activities that help achieve their rights and/or promote respect for the rights of other disadvantaged groups. Projects within this theme may have a particular focus on peace building, gender or theological education.
  3. Health awareness-raising, prevention and education projects which adopt an inclusive approach.
