The Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation has launched the grant program to impact the lifesaving capabilities, and the lives of local heroes and their communities.
This is accomplished by providing lifesaving equipment and prevention education tools to first men and women responders and public safety organizations.
Funding Areas
- Provide first responders with lifesaving equipment.
- Examples: Vehicle extrication tools, automated external defibrillators (AEDs), bunker gear, thermal imaging cameras, automated chest compression systems, vehicle stabilization struts, bulletproof vests, all-terrain vehicles, fire hoses.
- Prevention Education
- Provide prevention education tools to the public about the importance of public safety in order to prevent disasters in the home and community.
- Examples: Fire extinguisher training systems, prevention education materials, programming initiatives to focus on issues such as DUI and distracted driving education, carbon monoxide poisoning, CPR training and accessibility and other relevant safety issues.
- Scholarships & Continued Education
- Provide financial resources or continued education to individuals pursuing a career in public safety.
- Examples: Partner with schools on scholarship programs for individuals pursuing/advancing their career in the public safety sector.
- Disaster Relief
- Provide assistance and resources during and after natural and man-made disasters such as fires, tornadoes, hurricanes, etc.
- Examples: Feed first responders and survivors and provide lifesaving equipment to first responders to help them better prepare for any future disasters.
- Support for Members of the Military
- Benefit men and women of the military who have served their country in any of the branches of the United States Uniformed Services.
Funding Information
- The maximum dollar amount per request this quarter will be $45,000.
Eligibility Criteria
- Law enforcement, EMS, public safety organizations, non-profits and schools are encouraged to apply for life saving equipment.
- A maximum of 600 grant applications will be accepted quarterly for US Applicants.
Requirements
- You must provide an official vendor quote with the following information for your grant request to be considered. Submitted quotes must meet the requirements below, please read carefully:
- Only one vendor quote must be submitted for related items only, within one equipment category
- Vendor sales representative first and last name must be included on quote
- Vendor email address must be included on quote
- The name & physical address of your organization must be included
- The first and last name of a contact person from your organization must be included
- Only one vendor quote can be submitted. Your application will be marked incomplete if more than one quote is submitted.
- Online quotes will not be accepted
- Must be dated within six months of the application deadline
Ineligibility Criteria
- Examples of items that are not supported by the board of directors at this time include:
- body cameras, building exhaust removal systems, crash data boxes, dash cams, drones and drone accessories, exercise equipment, goodie bags, guns/firearms/use of force equipment, riot gear, laser pointers (designators), inflatable bounce houses, license plate readers, Narcan, portable message signs, Pluggie the fire plug robot, Polar Breeze thermal rehabilitation systems, power load stretchers, radar detectors, recording devices, refurbished equipment, security systems, surveillance equipment, Sparky the Fire Dog robots and costumes, stop sticks, tasers, throw bots, traffic road barriers, TruNar analyzers, t-shirts & polos, etc.
- The program does not provide reimbursements for purchased equipment. If your organization has already purchased the equipment and is requesting reimbursement, please do not apply.
