Deadline: 30-Oct-20
The Fixer Foundation is now accepting applications for one $2500 unrestricted grant for a Black-led, Black-serving nonprofit fighting for systemic solutions to racial inequity.
Governments, corporations, and the philanthropic sector have created and invested in their own initiatives to help Black communities. These initiatives are often better funded yet less effective, as they rarely bring in experts from Black communities — forcing Black nonprofits to bear the responsibility of addressing racial inequity. To tackle systemic racial inequity, the Foundation will:
- address the funding gap between white nonprofits and Black nonprofits; and
- Help make the initiatives of governments, corporations and the philanthropic sector more effective by bringing Black nonprofits into the conversation.
Funding Information
- Amount: $2500.
Key Definitions
- Racial Equity: Racial equity is achieved when institutions (e.g. governments, schools, companies, etc.) ensure members of minority racial groups are included and treated equally.
- Systemic Change: Fundamental changes to how an entire system functions (e.g. how courts prosecute, how schools educate).
