As part of the Dormant Accounts Fund (DAF) Action Plan, the Department of Rural and Community Development (DRCD) is inviting grant applications to provide Training and Mentoring Supports for Social Enterprises Pilot Scheme to grow and enhance their services and their traded income by providing tailored supports, mentoring and training.
The overall aim of this funding is to increase the impact of social enterprises by enhancing their capacity to deliver goods/services and increase their traded income through the provision of tailored supports.
Objectives
The objectives are as follows:
- To deliver tailored training to new and existing social enterprises to enable growth and improve sustainability and to increase social, societal and environmental impact.
- To provide one to one mentoring and coaching to board members and senior managers, of social enterprises to enable growth and improve sustainability.
- To provide learning opportunities for social enterprises operating in disadvantaged areas or with disadvantaged groups.
Funding Information
A budget of €800,000 has been made available to allocate to successful applicants, who can deliver suitable projects between 1 st December 2019 and 30th June 2020. The minimum grant that each applicant can apply for is €30,000 and the maximum is €100,000.
Eligibility Criteria
- The following types of organisations are eligible to apply for funding:
- National, regional or local organisations or networks that support social enterprises and have a demonstrable track record in the delivery of training and mentoring to social enterprises.
- Statutory bodies or institutions (including Higher Education Institutions) which have a demonstrable track record in providing direct supports and training to social enterprises.
- All applicants must:
- Have a separate legal status i.e. have a separate legal personality to its members. For example: Corporation Limited by Guarantee (CLG), Designated Activity Company (DAC).
- Demonstrate that they have a minimum of two years of experience in delivering training, mentoring and or supports to social enterprises directly or by contract.
Who is not eligible to apply?
- The following organisations and individuals are not eligible to apply:
- Private companies or organisations;
- Individuals;
- Sole traders;
- Applicants who do not have a separate legal status, for example, a community group with a constitution.
- Social enterprises seeking funding for training, mentoring and supports for their board, members and or staff.
