FVPSA Program: Enhancing Violence Interventions and Prevention Efforts

The Family Violence Prevention and Services Program (FVPSA Program) in the Family and Youth Services Bureau (FYSB) is seeking applications from eligible organisations for the Family Violence Prevention and Services Discretionary Grants program to enhance family violence, domestic violence and dating violence intervention and prevention efforts and to support a nationwide network composed of National Resource Centers, Special Issues Resource Centers (SIRC) and Culturally Specific Special Issue Resource Centers, focused on the intervention and prevention of family violence, domestic violence and dating violence.

Each SIRC shall be national in scope and shall provide comprehensive training and technical assistance (T&TA) to State and local domestic violence service providers, State domestic violence coalitions, State Administrators, national, statewide and local community based organizations, Tribes, tribal organizations, governmental agencies, and other relevant stakeholders.

The purpose of the SIRCs is to positively impact prevention and intervention efforts for domestic violence victims and their families in the four special issue areas by delivering proven, effective T&TA to those individuals, organizations, communities, institutions and systems who come into contact with or serve domestic violence and dating violence victims and their families. SIRCs approaches and efforts must be victim-centered and trauma-informed.
