The Global Community Engagement and Resilience Fund (GCERF) and the Tunisia Country Support Mechanism (CSM) of GCERF have announced a Call for Concept Notes from Tunisian organisations to become a Principal Recipient (PR) or a Direct Grantee of funding from GCERF’s Core Funding Mechanism (CFM).
The Call for Concept Notes is for initiatives to strengthen community resilience to violent extremism in Tunisia.
GCERF is a multi-stakeholder global fund that works with local partners to strengthen community resilience to violent extremism.
Funding Information
- This Call for Expressions of Interest is supported by an initial investment of USD 1 million, which will fund approximately two to five programmes in Tunisia over a one- to three-year period, beginning in 2019.
- GCERF will provide grants to individual organisations or consortia working at the community level. Each consortium should be led by a Principal Recipient that will be responsible for providing sub-grants to other consortium members.
Criteria
Applicants for GCERF funding in Tunisia are invited to submit a concept note in line with the GCERF Country Strategy for Investment in Tunisia for a grant of between one and three years in duration that focus on:
- the following specific demographic/population groups:
- religious actors;
- vulnerable youth who are hard to reach, for example who are not in education/training or employed;
- rural women above the age of 36, particularly mothers;
- university students
- the following specific thematic areas: economic empowerment;training and capacity building for example, soft skills; culture, sports, and Tunisian traditions; specific support for the Social Defence and Integration Centres (CDIS)
- and addressing drivers/factors of violent extremism, including: lack of sense of purpose, critical thinking, and life skills;perceived marginalisation; unemployment, inequality; lack of positive opportunities
