The Bank of America, Philanthropic Solutions is accepting applications for the George A. & Grace L. Long Foundation grant program to support and promote quality educational, cultural, human services and health care programming for underserved populations in Connecticut.
The Connecticut-based Philanthropic Solutions office manages many of these discretionary foundations which support nonprofit organizations serving vital community needs. The majority of these foundations were created and structured by donors to provide focused grant making based on a specific program and/or geographic area.
They seek to positively impact the lives of the traditionally underserved within their communities through their support of charitable organizations.

This site serves as an introductory portal for foundations distributing charitable grants primarily in the following states:

Eligibility Criteria
- Applicants must be classified by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) as a 501(c)(3) public charity. The foundations do not consider grant requests from individuals and do not support organizations attempting to influence policy through direct lobbying or any political campaigns.
- Several of the foundations have limitations and will only provide support for programs and/or projects.
- The majority of the foundations will provide general operating support in addition to program and project support.
- Applicant organizations must serve the people of Connecticut and have a principal office in Connecticut.
- Grants from the Long Foundation are one year in duration. Applicants will not be awarded a grant for more than three consecutive years.
- The Trustees normally give preference to proposals for specific programs or projects, and normally do not make grants for deficit financing, annual giving or capital projects.
- An applicant must demonstrate financial responsibility, indicate the qualification of its staff leadership and should indicate why the organization requesting a grant is the logical one to carry out the project.
- They do not provide support for start-up nonprofits or programs that are not yet established.
