The Gianforte Family Foundation is seeking applications for its grant program to support organizations that equip people to improve their lives in a sustainable way.
The Gianforte Family Foundation was established in 2004. Since its creation the foundation has become one of the top giving foundations in Montana, giving over $78 million to initiatives that align with the mission, vision, and focus.

- Bozeman Arts and Culture: Presenting community-wide quality performing arts for Bozeman.
Eligibility Criteria
- Applicants must be a non-profit with a 501 c3 tax filing status.
- Applicants must be a non-profit organization which fits within one or more of focus areas:
- Non-profit work is being done in Montana or project directly impacts Montanans.
- If the organization meets all of these criteria and is not currently a partner (i.e.: has never received a grant from the foundation) – please schedule a consultation. The Foundation staff wants to speak with you, hear about your organization, and help you determine if a partnership is a next step.
Application Process
- Complete and submit an online application: If you have never received a grant from them before, please contact them for a consultation and login code. If you have previously received a grant from the foundation and don’t remember your login – contact them. While filling out an application, you can save it as a draft at any time and return to it later. Once submitted, the application cannot be edited without contacting them.
- Application received: When you submit your application, they will review it to confirm all the required information has been completed. If any additional information is needed, they will contact you.
- Application reviewed: Applications are considered quarterly at the board of trustees meetings. They may contact you prior to the meeting to obtain specific information deemed necessary to make an informed decision.
- Decision: Most applications are decided upon during the board meeting where they are initially reviewed. In some cases, more information is needed to make a decision. Either way, you can expect a response to your application within eight weeks of the submittal due date. They respond to each application regardless of the decision.
- Reapply: All approved requests must reapply each year for funding. They do not automatically renew grants.
