The Government of Canada is currently seeking applications for the National Funders for the Community Services Recovery Fund.
This fund is a one-time, $400 million investment to help charities and non-profits adapt and modernize. This investment will strengthen the sector as it supports Canadian communities to recover from the COVID-19 pandemic.
Objective
- They will select National Funders to distribute the CSRF to eligible charities and not-for-profit Community Service Organizations across Canada.
- This program will strengthen the sector as it supports Canadian communities to recover from the COVID-19 pandemic.
How it works

There will be select national funders to deliver the Community Services Recovery Fund. National funders will be responsible for:
- setting up open application portals
- reaching out to diverse communities across Canada
- assessing community-level needs
- distributing the funding to charities and non-profits
Funding Information
- The total CSRF is $397,540,000. Eligible organizations may only apply for funds that they can deliver.
- The amount each eligible project receives will depend on the number of projects selected and the scope of activities.
- The successful projects will end by March 31, 2023.
Eligibility Criteria
- This is a solicited call for proposals. It is open only to specific organizations. If you believe that your organization meets all experience and eligibility criteria and wish to apply, contact us. If determine that you meet these criteria, they will invite you to apply.
- Eligible organizations may only submit 1 application for funding under this call.

Organizations eligible for this funding process have the expertise as outlined above and are:
- registered charities
- incorporated not-for-profits (must have a Canada Revenue Agency business registration number or proof of incorporation or registration)
- located in Canada
- in good financial standing with the Department, and
- have been operating for at least 10 years
Eligible projects
Projects that are eligible may focus on:
- adapting the way charities and non-profits deliver services to support the needs of staff and volunteers

buying equipment, such as:
- computers
- computer programs

creating new ways of working, such as:
- new fundraising approaches
- connecting to learn from other organizations

getting support for staff and volunteers, such as:
- staff training
- supports for mental health and wellbeing
- making plans to receive funding from diverse sources
