Ukrainian Women’s Foundation has announced a grant competition to expand the network of regional partners of the Voice of Women and Leadership – Ukraine Project from Kyiv, Cherkasy, Luhansk and Zakarpattia oblasts (one organization from each oblast).
Voice of Women and Leadership – Ukraine is a five-year project under Global Affairs Canada’s Women’s Voice and Leadership program. The project supports Ukrainian women’s human rights organizations, activists and common platforms to achieve institutional, programmatic and advocacy goals to ensure women’s and girls’ rights and promote gender equality in Ukraine.
Women’s Voice and Leadership – Ukraine” is implemented by the Ukrainian Women’s Foundation in cooperation with the International Renaissance Foundation and the public organization “La Strada Ukraine.
Objectives
- Task 1: Support women’s NGOs, especially those representing vulnerable women and girls and those facing multiple discrimination, in feminist organizational development and achieving sustainable results.
- Task 2: Improving the effectiveness of women’s NGOs in advocacy, as well as the development and implementation of local, local and national initiatives aimed at protecting women’s rights and promoting gender equality.
- Task 3: Strengthen national and local women’s networks, coalitions and platforms that will influence the implementation of gender-sensitive change and the implementation of gender-sensitive policies in Ukraine.
- The purpose of the competition is to select 4 regional partners in Kyiv, Cherkasy, Luhansk and Zakarpattia oblasts (one partner organization in each oblast), which will help ensure the participation of women and women’s organizations from these oblasts in project initiatives and support remote regions and underrepresented areas. Of Ukraine. The project is implemented in all regions of Ukraine.
Funding Information
- Grant amount: C $ 3,750 for 15 months.
Project Duration
- 15 months with the possibility of extension of up to 39 months.
Expectations from regional partners:
- Assist the project in deepening cooperation with regional women’s organizations and activists through assistance in organizing trainings, disseminating information about grant competitions and other project opportunities, collecting information and data for analytics, etc .;
- Advise local organizations on the preparation of proposals for UWF and other donors;
- Participate in the development of project strategies and priority areas of grant support so that the voices of women from the regions are better represented;
- Help adapt project initiatives to the local context;
- Support UWF in organizing project activities in the regions;
- Assist in monitoring the implementation of projects by grantees.
Eligibility Criteria
The Foundation invites officially registered women’s NGOs from Kyiv, Cherkasy, Luhansk and Zakarpattia regions to apply for the competition, which:
- have work experience of at least three years;
- demonstrate (according to the statute) a focus on the protection of women’s rights and / or the promotion of gender equality;
- have networking experience and a good reputation among women’s / human rights organizations in their region;
- not affiliated with government agencies or political parties.
