The Office of Global Criminal Justice (GCJ) seeks applications for one award to support the implementation of the justice and accountability components of Human Rights Council resolution 46/1 “Promoting reconciliation, accountability and human rights in Sri Lanka.”
GCJ seeks to strengthen justice processes to redress atrocity crimes committed during armed conflict and under repressive regimes.
Objectives
A successful project will support implementation of the justice and accountability components of HRC resolution 46/1. Programming may include, but is not limited to, at least one or more of the following areas:
- Strengthening OHCHR’s capacity to effectively collect, consolidate, analyze, and preserve information and evidence, including digital evidence and “big data”, of violations or abuses of human rights and violations of international humanitarian law in Sri Lanka.
- Develop and hone strategies for current and future accountability processes for violations or abuses of human rights or violations of international humanitarian law in Sri Lanka.
- Support relevant judicial and other proceedings, including in HRC Member States, with jurisdiction over international crimes allegedly committed in Sri Lanka.
- Support justice sector actors, including investigators and prosecutors, working toward credible justice and accountability for atrocities in Sri Lanka.

Eligibility Criteria
- Eligible applicants include U.S. or foreign:
- Non-profit organizations;
- For-profit organizations;
- Private institutions of higher education;
- Public or state institutions of higher education;
- Public international organizations;
- Applicants may form consortia and submit a combined proposal. However, one organization should be designated as the lead applicant with the other members as sub-award partners.
