The Government of Alberta is inviting applications for Alberta Crime Prevention (ACP) Grant to help prevent crime and keep your community safe.
The Alberta Crime Prevention (ACP) Grant program provides time limited grant funding that is available for a period of up to two years for projects/programs that focus on direct delivery of crime prevention/community safety and well being programs, services and/or supports. This includes prevention and initiatives related to youth gang involvement or exit from it.
Objectives

Projects and/or programs must be Alberta-based and meet at least one of the following objectives:
- Explore and/or incorporate innovative, promising, or proven crime prevention practices
- Enhance or create prevention activities for individuals who are at risk of becoming involved in criminal activity
- Provide crime prevention/public safety measures for communities/vulnerable populations at risk of being targeted by crime
- Strengthen and advance the capacity of the program or initiative.
Funding Information
- Grants provide funding from $25,000 to $150,000 per year (2022-23 and 2023-24).
Eligible Projects
- Direct delivery of crime prevention/community safety and well-being programs, services and/or supports
- Direct delivery of youth gang prevention and exit programs, services and/or supports

Activities that enhance the skills, knowledge and resources (capacity) of an organization and/or community to help them deliver crime prevention/community safety and well-being programs including:
- The development and delivery of information, training and resources/tools
- Public education and awareness activities
- One-time initiatives to address emerging issues and trends in crime prevention
- Implementation of a public/community safety plan including training and equipment.
Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must be located in Alberta and one of the following:
- A registered not-for-profit organization or charity in good standing
- A First Nation or Metis Settlement
- A municipality
- A community–focused police program or service
- A community group with a designated fiscal agent
- Organizations that received the Gun & Gang Violence Action Fund (GGVAF) Youth Gang Prevention Community Mobilization Grant and are at the implementation phase.
Ineligible
- Individuals
- Academic institutions
- For-profit organizations
- Crown corporation or publicly funded institutions.
