Deadline: 30-Apr-23
The third round of the $5 million Woolworths Dairy Innovation Fund is seeking applications from farmers for grants of up to $100,000 to support on-farm projects that deliver innovation, efficiency and seasonal resilience.
The Woolworths Dairy Innovation Fund helps to support projects that will help future proof dairies through innovation, efficiency, resilience and sustainability.
These grants will support on-farm improvements that deliver innovation, efficiency, greater resilience or enhanced sustainability. Their contribution to farms will fund new capital improvements or technology, and provide additional funds to help expand existing projects.
Funding Information
- A maximum of $100,000 may be awarded by Woolworths to any applicant.
- Duration: Ideally, Woolworths would like to see a Grant recipient’s investment project up and running within 12 months from when the application is approved, however Woolworths understands that flexibility may be needed to respond to unforeseen events and asks that Grant recipients keep Woolworths updated on progress.
What can be used for?
- Funding provided by Woolworths under a Grant may only be used by the recipient in connection with:
- The purchase or development of plant, equipment and/orinfrastructure to be used in connection with dairy farming; or
- Dairy farming research and development activities.
- Examples of suitable purposes include (but are not limited to) investment in:
- Water infrastructure (eg. improvements to irrigation, storage, bores, troughs, shed hygiene and recycling);
- Fodder infrastructure (eg. storage, machinery, fodder mixers);
- Initiatives that improve on-farm sustainability, including ag-tech solutions and initiatives that improve animal health, welfare and milk quality; and
- IT upgrades and training.
Eligibility Criteria
- All Australian dairy farmers who are registered businesses and contribute milk to Woolworths’ dairy supply chain – directly or through processors – are eligible to apply provided that they have not already received a Grant from the Woolworths Dairy Innovation Fund.
- Eligible applicants must, as at the date of their application:
- Hold a registered Australian Business Number (ABN or ACN for companies);
- Operate a dairy farm in Australia; and
- Either directly supply raw milk to Woolworths (eg. for use in the production of Woolworths’ Farmers’ Own milk varieties) or supply raw milk to a processor for use in the production of dairy products that are offered for sale to consumers through Woolworths’ supermarket retail channel (including vendor-branded dairy products and Woolworths’ own-brand dairy products).
